Question about "Bakla" in the Philippines?

I think it's because they all endure hard things in life. So they develop a personality that would compensate from the rejections they've felt. I've found many of them are meticulous and tried to prove their worth to society. I have nothing against gay people but I try to understand. If you were in their shoes, wouldn't you also feel the need to be accepted by society?
